Can You Spare 15 Minutes to Help a Homeless Dog?
Consider becoming a member of the LCHS Potty Patrol
For optimal mental health, dogs require walks outside several times a day. For most dogs, life in a shelter doesn’t allow for that to happen… until now!
LCSH is starting a new program—the LCHS Potty Patrol— for volunteers who are able to commit to coming to the shelter a few times a day, for just a short period, to get the dogs out of their kennels and into the sun and fresh air.
Potty Patrol members can sign up to work with dogs for short walks between 8:15 and 9:30 am, noon to 2pm or 4:45-6pm.
If you are interested, and have some time to spare, please come to our special orientation on January 30th at 1pm to find out about the program and how YOU can be a part of making a shelter dog’s life less stressful and more fun.
Note: Most of the volunteers who potty walk will need to be able to handle red dogs. This is a job for the goal-oriented person who enjoys measuring their own performance in concrete terms. Even if you only have a few minutes we can use you and you will be rewarded for your kindness with the gratitude of a homeless dog who desperately needs your attention.
For more information, please call Volunteer Coordinator Jo Bristow 442-1660 ext. 104.
